Welcome to WageLink and thank you for your interest in becoming a contributor.  As a contributor you will become the most important component of the WageLink system, for without you there would be no up-to-date information to share.

Let’s go over the services that will be provided to you as a contributing member of WageLink.

E      As a contributing member you will be able to generate wage and salary reports for many benchmark jobs from the WageLink database.  Depending on the level of service you have selected, you may use the entire WageLink database to generate your reports… or you may use only the records of a particular survey group to generate your reports.  The wage and salary reports that you generate from the database will include the following information:

ø Average base wage or salary.

ø 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles for base wage or salary.

ø Average total compensation (base pay plus other cash compensation).

ø 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles for total compensation.

ø The number of full-time employees in the job.

ø The number of exempt and non-exempt employees represented in the report.

ø The average scheduled hours for the work week.

ø The standard deviation for base wages and salaries.

Let’s go over the commitment you will make as a Contributor.

E      You will agree to contribute wage information on at least ten jobs that are currently represented in the database.  The information you agree to provide for each matched job is:

ø        Average base wage or salary.

ø        The number of full-time employees in the job.

ø        Average total compensation (base pay plus other cash compensation) for each matched job.

ø        Exempt status under FLSA.  (Non-exempt employees are those that are paid overtime for working more than 40 hours in a week.)

ø        Pay range minimums, midpoints, and maximums.

A word about job matching…

E      Generally we look for at least an 80% match.  That means that the job in your organization performs the duties described in the WageLink job summary at least 80% of the time.

E      Please don’t guess.  If you need to, contact a person in your organization who may be more familiar with the job.  Go over the job match with that person.

A word about data quality…

E      At WageLink, we make every effort to make sure that the information that gets into the database is very accurate.

E      A database is only as good as the information it contains.  Please report accurate data.  Don’t guess.

E      Please understand that you may be contacted by a representative of WageLink to go over information that you have sent in.

A few other notes:

E      As a contributor you may be a member of one or more survey groups.

E      You will have the same account number and password even if you belong to more than one survey group.

E      All information that you send to WageLink is kept confidential.

E      We do not share information about our contributors with anyone.
