WageLINK User Instructions
Login to WageLink:
Go to WageLink at http://WageLink.net via your Internet provider At the Home Page…. 1. Click on the Login Button. 2. Using the Tab key or by clicking in each of the boxes, enter the following information:
Account ID: Enter in your assigned 8-character Account ID (ex. XXX999-01). Password: Enter in your assigned password. (Case sensitive)
3. Click on the Login button to enter WageLink ORE Click on the Reset button to clear all the fields and re-enter the information.
4. You are now in WageLink.
Change your password:
1. Login to WageLink (See Login to WageLink Instructions). 2. At the options page, click on the Change Password button on the left side of the screen. 3. Using the Tab key or by clicking in each of the boxes, enter the following information:
Enter Old Password: Enter in your current password. Enter New Password: Enter in your new password. Re-enter New Password: Re-enter your new password.
4. Click on the Submit button to change your password ORE Click on the Reset button to clear all the fields and re-enter the information. E Click on the Home button to return to the WageLink home page.
Generate a Report
1. Login to WageLink (See Login to WageLink Instructions). 2. At the options page, click on the Generate Report box on the left side of the screen (Note: If you are a Contributor and have not sent in your salary information, the “Generate Report” button may not appear on the options menu) 3. A list of the survey group(s) of which you are a member will appear. Highlight the group you want by clicking on it. 4. Click on the Continue button ORE Click on the Reset button to clear all the fields and re-enter the information. E Click on the Option Menu button to return to the WageLink options page. E Click on the Report Definitions button for field explanations. E Click on the Report Methodology button for information on reporting process. 5. Using the Tab key or by clicking in each of the boxes, complete Step #1 through Step #6. Salary data represented in the Salary Report will be based on your selections. Step # 1Scroll through the list of jobs in the database by clicking on the 5 or 6 buttons to view the jobs in the database. Highlight a job from the list by clicking on it. Once a job is chosen, the related job summary will appear. Note: Only job titles having sufficient records in the database to generate a report will appear. Step # 2Area/ Region Code: Enter a three-digit area code to designate geographic the location of the job. Note Special Codes: If you want your report to reflect US average values, enter “USA” into this space. If you do not want geographic differentials applied to your report, enter “NOG” into this space. If you are unsure of the correct area code, you may click on the Area Code Lookup button. Step #3Highlight an industry by clicking on it in the box. The industry designation will only appear for Survey Groups that are not industry specific. Step # 4Highlight the company size by clicking on it in the box. Step # 5Annual Growth Rate: The default is 3.5%. If choosing another growth rate, enter the growth rate to be used in the wage calculation. Annual growth rate adjusts for market growth. For suggestions on growth rate options, click on Annual Growth Rate. Step # 6Click on the Generate Report button. A wage and salary report will appear on your screen ORE Click on the Reset button to clear all the fields and re-enter the information. E Click on the Option Menu button to return to the WageLink options page. E Click on the Report Definitions button for field explanations. E Click on the Report Methodology button for information on reporting process.
Print a Report
1. Go to the menu at the top of your screen. 2. Click on File. 3. Click on Print.
To Add Wage Information
1. Login to WageLink (See Login to WageLink Instructions). 2. At the options page, click on the Update Existing Wage Information/ Add New Wage Information box on the left side of the screen. 3. Click in the Add New Job/Area Code Information box. The Salary/Wage Data Addition screen will appear. Select the appropriate Group in the window at the left. 4. Click on the Continue button 5. Enter a three digit area code in the box provided. Area code will default to your location. Area code entered will remain the default area code as long as you are entering or refreshing records. If you are unsure of the correct area code, you may click on the Area Code Lookup button. 6. Scroll through the list of jobs in the Select Job For Which You Wish To Enter Wage/Salary Data table by clicking on the 5 or 6 buttons to view the jobs in the database. Jobs are listed in alphabetical, noun-first order. Select a job by clicking on the job code button in the first column of that job. The Salary/Wage Data Modification screen will appear. 7. Review the Job Title and Job Description to make sure this is the job you wish to add. 8. Using the Tab key or by clicking in each of the boxes, enter the data in the New Salary/Wage Information table: Date Entered: Default is today’s date. Area Code: Enter the area code where the position is located. If you are unsure of the correct area code, you may click on the Area Code Lookup button. Acct’s Job Title: Enter your organization’s job title for the job you are reporting. Job Holders: Enter the number of full time employees in the position. Work Week Hours: Enter the hours of the normally scheduled work week for this position. Job Status: Indicate if the position is full-time or part-time. The default is full-time. FLSA Status: Record the status of this position under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Non-exempt (NE) employees are those the are paid overtime for working more than 40 hours in a week. Note: All wage information is to be entered as follows… For jobs whose code begins with a C, D, I, N,T, and V, enter your wage information in HOURLY terms, i.e. 17.45. For jobs whose code begins with E, M, O, P, and S, enter your wage information in ANNUAL terms, i.e. 37890.
Wage/Salary Range (min): Enter the lowest value in the salary range for the job. Leave blank if you do not have salary ranges. Wage/Salary Range (mid): Enter the middle value in the salary range for the job. Leave blank if you do not have salary ranges. Wage/Salary Range (max): Enter the highest value in the salary range for the job. Leave blank if you do not have salary ranges. Wage/Salary Avg Base: Enter the total annual or hourly wages paid to jobholders divided by the number of jobholders. Wage/Salary Low Base: Enter the lowest annual or hourly wage paid to jobholders. Wage/Salary High Base: Enter the highest annual or hourly wage paid to jobholders. Wage/Salary Total Comp: Enter the total direct cash compensation (salary + bonuses) of all job hours divided by the number of jobholders.
9. Click on the Submit button to release the data for verification. An error message will appear if the wage data fails any computer checks. If this occurs, review the data entered and make the necessary adjustments. Once the data is submitted and accepted, it remains “unverified” until a WageLink compensation analyst reviews it and releases it into the database. Click on the Continue button and then the Add New Job/Area Code Information button to add another job. ORE Click on the Reset button to clear all the fields and re-enter the data.
At the top of the screen E Click on the Home button to return to the WageLink Home page. E Click on the Option Menu button to return to the WageLink options page. E Click on the Input Definitions button for field explanations. E Click on the Back to all Job Listings button to view the list of jobs/descriptions.
To Update Existing Wage Information
1. Login to WageLink (See Login to WageLink Instructions).2. At the home page, click on the Update Existing Wage Information/Add New Wage Information box on the left side of the screen. A listing of all previously entered records for your Account ID will appear. Select the job (by code) that you wish to refresh. Optionally, you can scroll through the list of existing wage data by clicking on the 5 or 6 buttons and select the record that you want to change. 3. The record will appear as either Current Salary/Wage Information (data has been reviewed and released into the database by a WageLink compensation analyst) OR as Unverified Salary/Wage Information (data has not yet been reviewed and released into the database by a WageLink Compensation Analyst). Both Current and Unverified Data can be modified. 4. Select the Modify button for the record you wish to change. The Salary/Wage Data Modification screen will appear. Review the Job Title and Job Description to make sure this is the job you wish to modify. 5. Using the Tab key or by clicking in the boxes to be changed, modify the wage data in the New Salary/Wage Information table. 6. Click on the Submit button to release the data for verification.
